Steel faced boards, such as Durasteel, are manufactured from a non-combustible core, which is usually cementitious based, onto which steel sheets are mechanically bonded; known as impact boards. Impact Board systems are typically used to construct walls and standalone barriers, ceilings, roofs, stairwells and ductwork or cable protection for use where aggressive environmental conditions prevail, particularly where high impact resistance or blast resistance is required. Durasteel is also UKPN approved for use in substations with ratings of up to 4 hours.
